Who operates this site
BapNavi is a dining guide for finding restaurants, food, neighborhoods, maps and practical tips in Korea. This copy of the site runs in the Local development environment. It is not connected to a production hosting provider.
Information the site handles
You can browse without creating an account. The site does not provide member profiles, a newsletter signup or a visitor review form. Search terms are used to find guide content. Your browser may keep up to four recent searches so you can reuse them; these stay in that browser on that device. If a search term appears in the page address, it may also appear in the technical request logs described below.
Saved places
When you save a restaurant or food, the list is stored in your browser’s local storage on your device. It is not sent to BapNavi as a saved profile. Clearing the browser’s site data removes the list, and it does not follow you to another browser or device.
Ask the guide
The optional dining helper first matches common questions to published food and dining guides on this site. When a question needs the language model, the current question and relevant published guide excerpts are sent from our server to Google’s Gemini service. Gemini is enabled on this site. The integration requests that Google not store the interaction. This does not replace Google’s terms or determine how Google may handle data under its service tier; Google’s free tier may use submitted content to improve its products. Do not enter names, contact details, health information or other private information into the helper.
The helper does not store questions or chat history in the site’s database. To limit abuse, it keeps a short-lived counter for each visitor’s requests per minute using a keyed hash of the visitor’s IP address; it does not put the question in that counter. A separate site-wide daily request counter is also used. Old counters are removed by the helper’s daily cleanup.
Maps and links to other services
Maps load material from OpenStreetMap and OpenFreeMap. Some restaurant pages load Leaflet from unpkg.com and use OpenStreetMap map tiles. Where a restaurant’s location has not been verified, a page may show an embedded Google Map instead. When these map resources load, the providers can receive your IP address and basic browser request information. Their own privacy policies apply to their services. Links to Naver Maps, Kakao Maps, restaurant websites and other external sites take you to those services, which have their own privacy practices.
Restaurant corrections
The “Report a possible closure” control opens a message in your email app; nothing is sent until you choose Send. If you send the message, the recipient receives the email address supplied by your email app, the restaurant page link and the text you include. On this local development copy, the configured recipient is a development-only address, not a monitored public mailbox, so the report control is not a working contact channel.
Cookies, local storage and analytics
The browsing features use local storage for saved places and recent searches. Visitors do not need to sign in. WordPress uses login cookies when an administrator signs in. The site does not currently run an advertising or analytics tracking service. Third-party map services may use their own technologies when their maps load.
Technical logs
This copy runs locally through Local and has no production hosting provider configured. The local web server may write technical logs needed to run and troubleshoot the site, such as request and error details. The project has no production log retention period configured, so this local copy cannot state one.
Your choices
- Clear this site’s local storage or browser site data to remove saved places and recent searches.
- Do not use the dining helper if you do not want a question sent to Google for Gemini matching.
- Block map resources or external links in your browser; maps or third-party pages may then be unavailable.
Children
This is a general dining and travel guide, not a service directed to children.
Contact and policy changes
This local development copy has no monitored public contact address for privacy questions or requests. Its configured WordPress administrator address is a development value and is not suitable for public contact. A public contact method and a production hosting/logging statement need to be configured before this site is launched publicly. If the site’s information practices change, this page will be updated.
